As I am certain you can imagine, I speak to everyone I can about being self-sustainable. I’ve come to the conclusion that most people do not know very well what it is to have a homestead mindset. It is like homestead has been educated or programed out of individuals almost.
Especially those people who have a desire to help make the homestead life way to produce a living. I am going to try to explain why I believe people no more understand what it means to make a living on the homestead and the items we can do to get the homestead mindset back again. The homestead life is approximately cashflow not salary.
We have been trained our hourly wage or our monthly salary is what counts. We take a look at our financial lives and the decisions we make in lieu of monthly premiums and whether or not we can get overtime or bonus deals. People have not looked at things that way for very long.

I have talked to a great deal of people who could not live without knowing when their next short term will occur. A person who truly lives from a homestead may know in a few days when pay should come, but it is not everyday normally. A 12 months A farmer may only get one pay day. My children are now on the road to self-sustainability fairly, I am not new to this lifestyle.
I was blessed to have been elevated in a family group that believed in producing as much of our very own food as you possibly can. Just the other day my daughter asked me, “When was the last time we had to buy eggs?”. She was informed by me, “Well baby, it’s been a couple of months. “She said, “That’s awesome”.
We haven’t had to buy green onions in weeks. My goal this year is to create as a lot of our own food as you can. That means less money that has to be spent for our food. A true homesteader is not thinking about a profit. They are interested in producing as a lot of what they need and finding a way of turning their overproduction into an income. I am not stating that we now have not people that run a business in conjunction with their homestead.
I know several who do that. Homesteading is more about knowing that you can offer for yourself regardless of what happens. I want to say right here I really do not see anything incorrect with a person making millions of dollars because they created or improved something. Awesome to them. What I am stating is the person whose sole concentrate is on earning or amassing more and more money is lacking something in their life. I’ve known some individuals like this.
They should never be happy. If they make a sum of money one yr, year their goal is to make a certain amount more next. They run their real life a corporation. Anytime they meet someone with an increase of money than they have, they will not rest until they have discovered how it was done by this person and have made as much. Again I say, if most of your desire in life is earning increasingly more money please, look at your life and find out when you can find another thing that will fulfill you. The first responsibility of a homestead family is to provide for their family, then for their neighbors, and lastly for an income.
There is no shame to make a profit. But you cannot view revenue in the normal mindset. Profit is after you have produced for your loved ones enough. The chains must be broken by use of financial slavery. No-one can produce everything they need. No-one can know all the abilities they shall need. The important thing is to know we cannot do it all. Do what we should air in and work with other people who do various things better best. If we do that, we can trade what each of us does best. That is called a symbiotic relationship. Community is important. We ought to be able to rely on each other. We can reduce our dependence on government and corporate and business powers. We must change our mindset and become more homestead minded just.
But, fortunately, the day and there have been no problems – it was a brilliant big day everything went really well on, one that we’ll all forever remember. Overall, it was successful because on the day everything was just perfect – and there were no last-minute problems to spoil my sister’s big day.
